Wichita Falls animal officials are on mission to save the lives of dozens of shelter animals.
Last month, the Animal Services Center euthanized more than 300 cats because they were sick, unclaimed or there was no room for them at the shelter.
So, the center will highlight the number of pets put down by participating in National No Kill Day, which is tomorrow.
Instead of euthanizing animals Monday the center will actually allow them to be adopted for free, with an approved application.
"So hopefully people can come out, fall in love with one of the faces that we have here, adopt it through the Humane Society and you're literally going to be saving a life," says Katrena Mitchell, administrator for the Wichita Falls Animal Services Center.
The the adoption event on National No Kill Day is tomorrow from 12 to 4 p.m. at the Animal Service Center at 1207 Hatton Road.
Again, adoptions are free with an approved application.
