Smashburger, in the Faith Village Shopping Center.
Around lunchtime, the line was long but moved quickly ...
And people we talked to say they're excited about another "big city taste" coming to Wichita Falls.
The busy parking lot -- and the line that snaked almost out the door -- is in sharp contrast with how the Faith Village Shopping Center looked not even a year ago.
"I am so happy for this area. We live in this area, & we're just so happy that they've brought it up. We've waited a long time for it -- so, we're just so happy."
"It's a good transformation. It needed it. Cause it was kind of an eyesore."
Smashburger Operating Partner
"We're very excited about the way it looks and the things that are coming -- you know, we're ready to see some other tenants come in & fill this place up."
So?? first-bite verdict??
"It was good. Really really good."
"It has been a smashing success."
We wondered if folks are concerned about traffic congestion once work begins on the Call Field/Lawrence/Rhea Road realignment project.
"I don't think it will be that bad. Right now there's a little bit of congestion because there's so many things going on -- but i don't really think it's going to hurt anything."
"It's going to have growing pains like everything else."
"You always have challenges when you have construction, things of that nature -- but I think as a whole, it'll make it very easy for customers to reach us in the future."
Overall, most people just say they're excited that Wichita Falls has more eating options:
"We do the new ones and we do the old ones. The four of us travel all week somewhere. We no longer cook at home!"
