In two days, more Texomans will be able to speed a little faster along a portion of a state highway.
Two weeks ago TtxDOT crews changed the speed limit signs on Highway 287 from Hardeman County to Loop 11 in Wichita County.
The speed limit on that stretch of road was 70 miles per hour.
Now, folks can drive 75.
And starting Tuesday, weather permitting, crews will begin changing signs on U.S. 70 south of Vernon to allow drivers to do the same.
Once all signs are changed drivers can cruise at 75 miles per hour on U.S. 70 south of the Vernon city limits to the Foard County line.
But the speed will decrease through the city of Lockett.
The change is coming after a new speed limit law went into effect back in September 2011.
