Several swimming pools in Wichita Falls said hello to the summer season by welcoming the weekend with a splash.
The Bill Bartley Branch Family YMCA pool had dozens of people soaking in the sun and cooling off in the water. Free admission to Splash Day meant the pool would be packed as the day went on so many early birds tried to beat the crowds, but being first in the water might have come at a price.
"We thought it was going to be hot but the water is like freezing and it's not that hot out here. We have been having a lot of fun actually. Been able to swim across the water , jump off the diving board," said swimmer Javari James.
And for those looking to get a little work out while at the pool, a free Aqua Latin class was given. Where pool-goers moved and grooved to Latin music.
