Texoman's triple digit temperatures may have contributed to the death of a 10 year old boy.

Shortly before 4 p.m. on Friday, Hardeman County sheriff's officials say an ambulance was called to an area south of Chillicothe.

They say a 16 and 10 year old boy were walking from home to a nearby dairy farm and were overcome by the heat.

The 16 year old was taken to Chillicothe Hospital and later transferred to United Regional but the 10 year old died.

Although officials believe both suffered from heat exhaustion an autopsy is being performed on the child.
