The Texoma heat may have contributed to the death of a 10 year old boy.
Hardeman County sheriff's officials say just before 4 p.m., Friday, a 911 call was made requesting an ambulance south of Chillicothe for the child and a 16 year old male.
Officials say the two were walking from home to a nearby dairy farm when they were overcome by the heat.
Officials say the 16 year old was taken to Chillicothe Hospital and later transferred to United Regional but the 10 year old was pronounced dead.
Although officials believe both suffered from heat exhaustion, an autopsy will be done on the child.
That investigation continues.
