Thieves Steal Copper & Aluminum Wire from New Little League Field

Wichita Falls Little League players and parents are disappointed because thieves have stolen about 15-hundred feet of aluminum wire and 100 feet of copper wire from the league's new field.
The nonprofit league serves more than 700 kids, ages four through 12.
It's has spent the last several years saving money and seeking donations to build a new field on Southwest Parkway.
Byrd Electric had been doing electrical work to install lights ...
But sometime in the last week, thieves  pulled wire out of the PVC conduits between the pillars ...wrecked a 25- hundred dollar meter box ... and cut the copper wire out of a meter can.

"Just to come out here & do something like that -- take away from Little League kids -- is the worst part."
   Bruce Thornhill
W.F. Little League President
"It's very frustrating. To know that the time & the effort that's gone into everything out there -- to know that someone came out here in the middle of the night, stole wiring that amounts to not much -- they're 10- & 12-year-old kids that are going to benefit from that. They just came out & took it."
The damage is estimated at five thousand dollars.
If you know anything about this crime, you're asked to call Crime Stoppers ...
    That number is 322-9888.
