Two Arrested in Connection with Injury to a Child

A mother and her boyfriend are in jail tonight in Montague County ... following alleged abuse of a six week old baby.
    According to Bowie police ... on March 21st, Amber Lynn Crail brought her baby girl to the hospital in Decateur because the baby had head injuries and was having seizures.
    At the time, police say, Crail said she didn't know what caused the injuries.
    But last Wednesday, police arrested Crail's boyfriend, Michael Wayne Montgomery -- who is *not* the baby's father.
    Police say Montgomery has admitted to hurting the baby.
    Crail has a 50- thousand dollar bond, charged with abandoning/ endangering a child.
    Montgomery is charged with injury to a child / serious bodily injury.
    His bail is set at 100- thousand dollars.
    Bowie police say the baby spent two weeks at Cook Children's Hospital and was released to foster care yesterday.
    Police say doctors have said the baby will suffer long- term problems from the injuries.
