THE PANEL DECIDED WHETHER THE NEWLY DRAWN DISTRICT LINES FOR STATE HOUSE... SENATE AND CONGRESSIONAL SEATS ARE FAIR....
THE JUDGES ARE REVIEWING MAPS THAT LAWMAKERS PASSED IN THE 2010 LEGISLATIVE SESSION.
BECAUSE OF POPULATION GROWTH IN THE LONE STAR STATE -- TEXAS WILL GAIN 4 NEW SEATS IN THE U.S. HOUSE...
BUT SOME ARGUE THE DISTRICTS DRAWN UP BY LAWMAKERS DON'T REPRESENT THOSE AMONG THE GROWING POPULATION.... PRIMARILY LATINOS AND AFRICAN AMERICANS.
THE TEXAS PRIMARY HAS BEEN TENTATIVELY PUSHED TO APRIL PENDING A JUDICIAL DECISION... BUT THAT COULD CHANGE IF A DECISION ISN'T MADE IN TIME TO GET THE BALLOTS OUT.
