Volunteers will hit the streets tomorrow morning in East Wichita Falls with a special survey for residents.
The United Way is teaming with East of the Falls Community Development Corporation to continue their asset based community development project.
The project will have volunteers giving residents a five minute survey to generate their talents, gifts and skills, which coordinators say will be used for community development.
"The whole point is for the residents to drive this initiative. We want to hear from the people. We want to know what they want so it has to be resident driven in order for us to know what they want and get collaborators to help get it done," says Brenda Jarrett, Eastside neighborhood development coordinator with the North Texas Area United Way.
Coordinators are looking for more than 30 volunteers to join this asset mapping program.
To take part head to the Paul Irwin Activity Center at 115 East Wichita Street, Saturday, September 22nd at 9 a.m.
Following a briefing, you will head into the community at 10 a.m. and return to the center by noon.
