If you are looking for a way to truly change someone's life is the new year the Wichita Adult Literacy Council wants to hear from you.

Wichita Adult Literacy Council, or WALC, offers free tutoring for adults who want to learn how to read and write

They offer tutoring for folks who need basic education and those who struggle with English as their second language

"In order for people to be able to function in this society they have to be able to read especially with the advent of the information age, literacy is just paramount," said John Payatakis, a tutor for WALC

The council is recruiting tutors for their upcoming training session.

Orientation is January 18th at 10am at the WALC office in the Galaxy Center at 4309 Old Jacksboro Hwy Ste 105.

WALC holds tutor training two times each year.

The next session begins

Saturday, January 18th with Orientation from 10 - 11 a.m.

You must attend both training sessions:
Saturday, January 25th 9 - 4
Saturday, February 1st 9-4
