The Texoma heat can make you lazy.
That's why many folks are staying cool by having a splash at Castaway Cove.
"Business has been real good, especially here in the last month when the temperatures have gotten to be 100 and higher. Everybody's coming out to the park," says Steve Vaughn, Castaway Cove Water Park Manager.
It happened last summer when Wichita Falls had 100 days of temperatures that were 100-degrees or hotter, which caused park attendance to increase 17% over attendance in 2010.
But this year, managers say bad weather has put a bit of a damper on crowds.
"We've had a couple of days where we had lightning that's been in the area. For safety measures, we closed the park for a little while until it goes past us. Even, last Monday night we had to close early cause we had a little sail just south of town," says Vaughn.
To get more people to float in this year and offset the bad weather days, the park is continuing to offering promotions to reel folks in, including Mom's Monday where mom's get in for a discount.
But they're also offering some new things.
"This year we have Dive-In-Movies every Friday night at 8:30. We have new cabanas here that you can rent."
And managers hope those events, along with more triple digit days, will increase attendance for this summer.

Although managers say it will be tough to top last year's attendance numbers they hope the weather will remain brutally hot for the rest of the summer so the park can reap the benefits of big crowds.
