W.F. Health Department Analyzing Animal Control Ordinance

The victim of last month's pit bull attack in City View -- June O'Hara -- was back in her usual seat in the back of the audience at Wichita Falls city council again this morning.
O'Hara has attended the meetings for years ... and during the last meeting, while she was recovering, asked the council to consider stricter rules to protect people from dog attacks.
Health Department Director Lou Franklin says her office is analyzing the practices of other animal control facilities throughout the state.
"So we're looking to see if there are different ways to enforce -- or more stringent ways to enforce the current ordinance that we have in place."
Franklin says she her office won't necessarily propose an ordinance revision ... but she might propose a change to how animal control enforces the current ordinance.
She plans to present something to the council at the next meeting.
