The School Board is currently holding a closed door meeting interviewing candidates for the new Superintendent for the Wichita Falls I.S.D.
Dr. Tim powers the Assistant Superintendent is currently acting as the Interim Superintendent.
Tonight and tomorrow the School Board is scheduled to conduct interviews with several of their candidates.
The board has been pleased with their candidate pool and say they hope to conduct call back interviews for one or two of their candidates as early as the end of this week.
Kevin Goldstein, the Wichita Falls School Board President, says while they are taking the process seriously there is also a lot of excitement.
"It is exciting, there is a lot of excitement in the air as far as going through this process, finding that special person. And I think we look back at what we had before and the positives and negatives and try to look at the positives and add to that. So you end up looking for those superintendents or candidates that have experience of course, that have done numerous things in the district that may be different then us. So we are kind of going through that and that's what we are doing right now," he said.
Goldstein says they hope to be able to report back to us with some good news within the next two weeks.
