Tonight, Wichita Falls ISD school board members voted to accept staff recommendations and allow elementary teachers to issue student progress reports four and a half weeks through the nine week grading period.

Board members also listened to a proposal that would give students the opportunity to experience cultures from another part of the world.

Mike Lang, head of the German American Club, talked about possibly bringing a foreign exchange program with several cities within Germany into the Wichita Falls school system.  Lang claims the program could benefit students for years to come.

Lang says, "Just imagine personal friendships evolving into potential business relations into many more student exchanges that can arise from this endeavor."

The program is already successful in several other school districts in North Texas, including the Denton School System.
