"An athletic trainer is usually the first responder to an athletes injury. We are almost with athletes all day, every day," says athletic training student Jeremiah Berryhill.
And although they often have the best view of some of the biggest sporting events, they don't view them as a typical fan does.
"Unlike watching the actual sporting event, I'm watching the athletes. How they're walking, how they're getting up when they fall down. I'm looking for any gait changes, looking to see if there's been an injury sustained. I'm supposed to see it before anybody else does," says athletic training student Alicia Cunningham.
"We're there for any emergencies, for prevention of injuries, for taping, evaluation and referral to a physician if needed," adds Berryhill
