FNF Preview: 2013 Iowa Park Hawks

"We're excited about what the kids did in the offseason and in 7 on 7 and summer  programs.
So we feel like we're right where we want to be right now. We feel  like we're executing pretty good for this time of year we're  excited
about the season opener. We're just ready to get 2013 started."  Said Iowa Park Football Coach Scott Ponder.

The fall camp has been  intense for Head Coach Scott Ponder and his Iowa Park Hawks, who've set out to  get their program
back to Iowa Park's winning ways after two straight 1-9  seasons. On top of having four Senior Lineman leading the
push up front. A  slew of skill players expect to be making big plays.

"We're pretty deep  in our skill positions, we've got a lot of kids that can contribute so I think  our numbers will help us, we're
strong in that department." Said Ponder.

"A lot of depth on offense where anyone can just come in and fit in  and a lot of guys that can make some plays." Said Wide Receiver Brennan  Whitaker.

In addition to week's of practice, the Hawks have squared off  against Holiday and Abilene in preseason games and feel that  those
exhibition games have allowed some players to step into  starting roles.

"Our big push all three weeks is to try to find the  best 11 guys and the best combination of players and I think we're closer to  that." Said Ponder.

The past is exactly that for this year's Hawks,  as they set the bar high for this season. Wanting people to know that  this
Iowa Park team is ready to soar.

"I think you're going to  see a very tough, hard nosed disciplined football team. You're going to see a  team that's going to play
with a lot of class and going to play extremely  hard. We're going to compete extremely well, we've been very proud  of
the way our boys have competed so far." Said Ponder.

"We  worked hard and anything less than a winning season is going to be a  disappointment for us. Expect big things from the
Hawks this year, it's not  going to be the same thing that happened the past two years. It's going to be a  lot different. " Said Whitaker.
