2014 FNF:District 9-1A, Division 1

- There's some interesting twists with this 4 team Division 1 district.
The Bryson Cowboys last season were 2-8
In 2013, Bryson was in a district with state champion Crowell, playoff bound Throckmorton and a 3 loss team in Knox City.
Bill Reed is in his second season as coach of the Cowboys.
To improve on last year's 2-8 mark, Reed feels they will have to get better in several key areas.
Bill Reed, Bryson Head Football Coach-"We are going to have to improve on our ball handling skills. We had two many turnovers last year. We will have to play better defense of course our schedule will improve with the realignment."
Changes are all around for 2013 state semifinalist Newcastle.
The Bobcats have a new head coach in John Eli, a new district and a new division as Newcastle moves up from Division 2 to Division 1.
John Eli, Newcastle Head Football Coach-"We age going to continue what we did last year.We would have liked to have made that step last year to the finals and play for a state championship. For the most part we are going to go out and continue to do what we have been doing. It is what the kids are comfortable with. I am not going to come in and change anything. We are just going to keep going with the flow."
When you look at playoff consistency, you don't need to look any further than Saint Jo. The Panthers have made the playoffs in 5 of the last 6 seasons including the last two years.
Head Coach Chad Tallon has 7 seniors returning.
With a tougher district, Coach Tallon looks at senior leadership and experience as a big key to a successful 2014.
Chad Tallon, Saint Jo Head Football Coach-"We are going to have to make sure our kids put in the time in and the experience and that they are ready to go. We are not going to have a whole lot of depth. We are going to have to avoid injuries and keep the older kids on the field."
