FNF Preview: 2014 Archer City Wildcats

In 2011 and 2012 the Archer City Wildcats won a total of three games and quite frankly weren't competitive.Last season was a different story.
"It was very frustrating," says Archer City's Reagan Bates. "You come so close and you're 13 or 14 points from winning a district championship and you don't even make the playoffs."
The Wildcats averaged 19 points per game last season and are hoping senior quarterback Ty Tucker can lead the team to the endzone even more this season.
"Ty really has an overall grasp of what his position requires out of him and he's done a good job of pushing the younger guys in that same position to follow the lead," says Archer City Head Coach Don Hasley. "And they're even trying to force him to step his game up."
Utility player Case Caldwell will also once again carry a big load of the offensive responsibility after passing, rushing and receiving his way to nearly 600 yards of offense as a freshman.
"I think we have a pretty good variety of lineman," says Wildcats offensive lineman Derek Wolf. "We're all still big, heavy-set guys. But we can run. And we will run down there with our backers and protect them."
Defensively, the Wildcats will once again turn to the coaches son, defensive end Kolton Hasley for leadership.
The Wildcats first shot at a win comes August 29th when Archer City travels to Petrolia.
The Pirates won last season. By one point.
