The Iowa Park Hawks will spend at least 37 hours on a bus travelling to and from games this season. A newly formed District 1-4A, D-II has the Hawks taking road trips to Brownwood, Dalhart and Perryton.
Westyn Swenson and Landen Kimbro have had a strong battle competing for the quarterback position. No matter who new head coach Aubrey Sims chooses, bothe will get significant playing time.
On the receiving end of passes will be the likes of Cole Oxford and Jared Biddy.
The Hawks will utilize a running game considerably more this season. Four backs are expected to see carries including Dyllan Radford and Kelly Houston.
"They each bring something special to the offense," says Sims. "We're going to use all of them. We're going to get guys in and let them do what they do and not ask them to do what they're not good at."
Defensively, Sims will have to repair a defense which allowed over 43 points per game in district play a year ago. Defensive tackle Jody Roberts will play a big part in the effort.
