2014 FNF: Seymour Panthers Preview

- There's a new leader and voice for the Seymour Panthers football team in 2014.
Hugh Farmer comes in as head coach after one season in Olney.
He takes over for Keith Ivy.
Over the past few seasons, there's been a lot of winning in Seymour.
The Panthers are two time defending district champs.
Also they have 7 straight playoff appearances.
Hugh Farmer, Seymour head football coach-"From the outside looking in, Seymour has always been a place where the kids work hard. They play hard. It is definitely an honor to put on the maroon and come over here and coach these boys for sure."
The message being pushed by the coaching staff and players is deserve victory.
In the past 7 seasons, the team has earned and deserved their 61-24 record.
Hunter Martinez, Seymour Junior QB/WR/DB-"If you work hard you deserve victory. That's what we did through our workout. If you went to so many you got a chrome decal on the back of your helmet that says deserve victory. Because your work for it so you deserve it."
The Panthers return 5 starters on defense and offense.
Seymour offense in 2014 features the spread while on defense the want to stop the run.
Overall the Panthers success this year will come with not just the wins and losses but other factors.
Farmer-"Well you know I don't get into that. I think winning takes care of itself if you do the right thing. And we are going to take it day to day and week to week and what we get is what we are going to get. I think if the kids work hard and again if we stay healthy we will compete well."
Seymour begins their competition for their 3 straight district title and 8 consecutive playoff appearance August 29th at Memphis.
