2014 FNF:District 8-1A, Division 1

- It was a joyous occasion the last time the Crowell Wildcats played a game.
Last December on the AT&T stadium turf, the Wildcats dialed up a state championship win over May.
Nathan Hayes, Crowell H.S. Head Football Coach-"Last year was a great year. A lot of things fell into place for us. We were injury free for most of the season. We had a few injuries we had to overcome."
The 2013 Crowell Wildcats season is something cool to think about.
But now we are in 2014........a new season with new expectations.
The Wildcats go from a team full of underclassmen to a heavy senior squad with five starters returning on both side of the ball.
Crowell Head Coach Nathan Hayes sees the road to back to back state titles....as a difficult one.
Nathan Hayes, Crowell H.S. Head Football Coach-"Last year we were the underdog team. We were chasing somebody. Now we are the ones that are being chased. Everyone is going to bring their a game to us. We are going to have to ready every week now. It is going to be a new position to be the target."
One team that should battle Crowell for the district title is Knox City.
The Greyhounds finished 7-3 and one game out of the playoffs.
Head coach Charles Steele feels speed and depth are the advantages for the Greyhounds this season.
They return six starters from the 2013 team.
Charles Steele, Knox City Greyhounds-"We have high expectations in Knox City. No doubt about it. We expect to win. We expect to be in the playoffs. Our kids know what we expect of them. They work hard. It is not something that we have to stay hard on them. They stay in the weight room. They get into the gym. They do the things they are suppose to do on their own that we don't have to make them do. As some other schools do. So it is good from there."
