Making the playoffs in expected in Burkburnett. The Bulldogs have advanced to the postseason all five years under Head Coach Scott Boswell
"My first year group which went three deep in the playoffs did a really good job and it was a pretty special group," said Boswell. "That doesn't diminish anything the people behind them have done. They've made the playoffs every year and just haven't matched up well with the teams we've met in the first round. We feel like we are moving in that direction and we hope this year is our year."
If Boswell's Bulldogs return to the playoffs his offensive one-two punch of Quarterback Bryan Lewis and Running Back Marquis Askew will have to live up to expectations.
"The people we play in our district and non-district are really, really good," said Boswell. "We've got to be on top of our game each and every week. Those two, along with everyone else in the program, have worked really hard to get to the spot we need to be to win a gold football."
Defensively the Bulldogs will have to improve after allowing over 31 points per game in 2013, over 35 points per game once district play started.
"It's the iron man mentality," said Boswell. "We have to go and get the job done. It doesn't matter if you're a starter on offense or a starter on defense we're going to put the best 11 on the football field and we've got to get that mindset down and go out on fire on all cylinders on both sides of the football."
