It the second time in school history it has ever happened.
Now for the Mustangs this year it is all about more than just making the playoffs.
Rudy Hawkins, City View head coach-"We just want more. We are hungry. The taste we got in the playoffs last year wasn't enough. It kinda got us started. Now we are really hungry and go further along."
Ryan Karr, City View Quarterback-"We gotta work hard. We have been working hard all summer. And we are ready to get back on the field and play and prove we are as good as we were last year."
The Mustangs have the potential to be just as good if not better that last year's squad.
City View has the most offensive and defensive starters returning in their district with 10 on offense and 8 on defensive.
Included in the returnees, the districts returning leading passer in Ryan Karr, rusher D.J. Coursey, and receiver Dalton Jackson.
All these players are part of the best stretch of football in mustangs history.
Karr-"It feels good to be on the other end of it a little bit rather than the tough end all the time."
Hawkins-"Our senior class is one of the groups that stayed together. And stuck it out here. Credit to them. The kids worked really hard. I am really happy and proud to coach these kids."
36 is an number associated with the 2013 Mustangs.
That's the average number of points the offense scored and defense gave up on the field.
During the preseason, City View worked on improving an already potent and speedy offense, while looking to shore up the defense.
Hawkins-"We are going to continue to push them to there limit. The kids know we are going to push them. They wouldn't expect anything different from us. And we wouldn't expect anything different from them. Last year we talked about knocking the door down and getting into the playoffs. We want to continue to knock more doors down."
The City View Mustangs are going to knock on the door of a tough team to start the season.
They travel to Quanah on August 29th.
