What started as a typical summer morning for Vickie Cooper made a sharp turn when she spotted us on her way to get breakfast.
"I was heading to Jack in the Box for some breakfast," said Vickie, this week's Pay It Forward winner.
But instead of buying breakfast for herself, Vickie decided to buy lunch for the Hirschi High School band.
You see, Vickie is the mother of three and all of her children have walked the halls at Hirschi High.
Vickie said that giving back to those who have given so much to her family is second nature.
"They're a good band and it's a good school,” said Vickie.
While school is still a couple weeks away, the Husky Band is bringing a sweet beat to their daily practices.
"Were in our second week and this is our last full day of summer rehearsal because we have fan-fest tomorrow," said Priscilla Gibson, head band director for Hirschi High School.
As full day summer practice comes to an end, the 300 dollars from Vickie not only brought pleasure to their pallets but sent a deeper message of appreciation.
"Sometimes they feel it's normal because they come and do it every day and they don't realize that people outside think that it's really pretty special," said Gibson.
And they used those talents to pay tribute to Vickie and say thank you.
