Hirschi Hires New Football Coach

- Hirschi High School has a new head football coach and athletic coordinator. WFISD Athletic Director Kenny Catney announced Danny Youngs is taking over the Huskies program. He starts Wednesday.

Youngs comes from Kennedale where he served as defensive coordinator from 2009 to 2014. The Wildcats won 46 games during his time in Kennedale. He says to expect an "aggressive 4-3, Cover 4 defense which will attack the ball."

While Youngs becomes the 11th head coach in Hirschi's history, it is the first head coaching job for Youngs. "I've worked with some great head coaches, but I'm ready to do it my way. I'm excited and I'm looking forward to the challenge," says Youngs.

Prior to Kennedale, Youngs spent time in Grandview (2005-2009), Dallas Sunset (2004) and Mexia (1999-2004).

When asked how he knew Hirschi was the right fit for him he responded by saying "It had to be the right fit for me and my family. When visiting I turned to my wife and we both knew Wichita Falls was it. Being in the same region, I've seen Hirschi's athletes at track meets and I know we'll have the opportunity to be successful."

Although he is a self-proclaimed defensive coach he assures the Huskies offense will " be physical, and will run as much as possible. But we will be balanced and have an unpredictability. Much of our offense will be dictated by who our quarterback is and what skills he possesses."
