He will soon take over as the football coach/ athletic director in Bells.

Ponder had this to say about the team he will soon lead, "Bells has struggled in recent years, but they are about to get a whole bunch better."

Prior to coaching at Iowa Park, Ponder coached at Petrolia and Rider.

So not only will the Hawks be searching for a new coach/athletic director, they will also be looking to name a new starting quarterback since Ponder's son Derrick, who has been throwing the ball, will relocate to Bells with his Dad.
