Jim Garfield Resigns As Rider's Football Coach To Accept Same Position At Elgin

The Rider Raiders are looking for a new head football coach as Jim Garfield has resigned to become the new head football coach at Elgin high school which is just outside of Austin.
The Elgin ISD school board approved Garfield's hiring during a meeting Monday night.
Elgin is a 4A school which will be part of the new 5A next season.
Garfield spent 4 years as head coach of the Raiders and before that he was an assistant coach for Rider for several years.
Garfield went 39-15 and made the playoff every season leading the Raiders to their first ever state semifinals appearance in 2012.
