Mustangs Rise, Hamm Signs, Lady Chaps Drop 2 & Rider Wins One

    Midwestern State moved up three spots to No. 19 in the latest National Fast-pitch Coaches' Association Division II Poll released Wednesday afternoon.

      MSU at No. 2 in this season's first edition of the South Central Region rankings released Wednesday afternoon by the NCAA Division II Softball Committee.
The Mustangs (35-12) extended their current winning streak to seven games with a 6-5 win over Cameron on Tuesday, have won 11 of their last 12 and are 15-3 since suffering a season-long five-game skid from March 16-23.
The Mustangs are a part of a strong contingent from the Lone Star Conference occupying five of the 10 spots in the regional rankings.
    The Mustangs also signed a local standout on Wednesday. Graham's Krisha Hamm will play for the Mustangs next season. This season she has won ten games as a pitcher and she's batting .325.     
    Vernon College dropped a doubleheader to North Central Texas College 17-0 and 6-2. Tanya Whaley threw a no-hitter for the Lady Lions in game one of the twin-bill. 


    Rider's Abby Donnell threw a one-hitter as the Lady Raiders beat Denton 13-1.
