Team of the Week, May 16th, 2013, Munday Track

The Munday track team has gotten used to winning. Coming into this year's state track meet they were the overwhelming favorites. And the two time defending state champs. They also were fresh off winning the state football title at cowboys stadium.Capping off an undefeated season, and with all that pressure and all of those expectations the Moguls shined once again. Winning their third state championship in a row...
Dee Paul is fast, on the football field, and on the track. And this weekend Paul helped lead the mustangs to their third consecutive state track Championship. Coach Ronny Lowrance says he knew they could handle the pressure of being picked to win,  " they've been under pressure for the last three years. They were the favorites last year and won it. They were the favorites this year in football and won it. Track again this year was no different. These guys can handle it."
Dee Paul, who won four individual gold medals at sate said he is just proud to be a part of such a great team, "i'm extremely blessed to be surrounded by these talented individuals. They come to practice every day and they compete with me and i compete with them. You know we get after each other."

And this group of seniors didn't just run track and play football together. They did just about everything you can think of. From off season workouts to celebrating their state Championhips...
Rodrick Taylor says what he'll take with him is the memories, "with all the football practices and basketball and track practices we had together. The memories that we made together, those will last forever."

And in this year's track meet they came together to win gold medal after gold medal. And now that Dee Paul and the other seniors will be leaving. Coach Lorance says he knows that the younger guys know how to win. "these young guys they know what it's going to take. And they're ready to step up to the challenge."
And as for what it's been like coaching this group of guys?, "it's great just to be a part of it. And to provide a little bit of guidance along the way and then to step back and watch them preform."
