Two area high school quarterbacks were named the preseason offensive players of the year.
Rider's JT. Barrett was named the preseason player of the year and offensive player of the year for class 4A.
The Ohio-State University commit is coming into his senior season after throwing for over 1,500 yards as a junior and accounting for 21 touchdowns.
The Rider Raiders are ranked #7 in the state with the season looming.
Munday's Dee Paul is also rated the player of the year and offensive player of the year for class 1A.
Paul is a complete athlete and ran for over 2,000 yards and 34 touchdowns last year. He also passed for 13 touchdowns and over 1,100 yards.
Paul is committed to play at SMU.
Munday is ranked #1 in class 1A D-II with L.J. Collier also being named to the all-state team with Paul.
In 1A D-1 Windthorst is ranked #5 with Derek Mankins receiving preseason all-state honors.
Rounding out the ranked teams in Texoma is six-man football with Throckmorton being ranked #1 in D-1 and Newcastle at #7 in D-II.
