Five-time Olympian Danielle Scott is here in Wichita Falls to help raise money for the MSU Volleyball Team.
Scott, an International Volleyball Hall of Famer and 4 time FIVB World Grand Prix Champion, is delivering the keynote address for MSU Volleyball's fundraiser for the team's first trip abroad to Argentina next month.
And Scott said she's excited that she can contribute and give back, while encouraging the athletes to continue to put in the work to get to where they want to go.
"Kind of share some of my journey with them as well as give them hope that they can do it, too," said Scott. "It's not limited to one person. The limitations we have are typically the ones we put on ourselves. I try to inspire them in that way and it's great that the university and president was able to get behind the volleyball team to allow them to have such an occasion to to raise money for going to Argentina which is ultimately going to help their program be better and better."
"I think it's important for any aspect of your life, rather you're being a volleyball player, rather you're going after a job, just little milestones that you're trying to accomplish, I think it's important in any aspect of your life to know that you're enough. If you put in the work and you get the knowledge and you apply it, then you can become anything you want to become."
Scott starred on the US Women's National Volleyball Team as a middle blocker for 19 years. She is one of only four volleyball players to have participated in five Olympic Games.
