Oland, a senior-to-be from McKinney, Texas/Boyd, fired a 5-under 67 in the morning and followed it with a 3-under 69 in the afternoon on the par 72, 6,953 yard Sky Creek Ranch course to qualify for the 2014 U.S. Amateur Championship Aug. 11-17 at the Atlanta Athletic Club's Highlands Course in Johns Creek, Ga.
Oland won the event by a stroke over Eli Cole of Dallas who carded a 7-under 137. Andrew Hans of Waxahachie, Texas was third at 4-under 140. All three qualified for the championships.
Starting on the back nine, Oland suffered a bogey on his third hole before rattling off six five birdies in six holes on his way to a 5-under first round.
In the second round, Oland opened with five birdies on the front nine, then held on through an up and down final nine that saw him collect two birdies with two bogeys and a double bogey.
Oland, the Lone Star Conference individual champion, will return for his senior season this fall.
