The Midwestern State volleyball team is planting seeds for a successful 2014 season in the spring time.
For past few weeks head coach Venera Flores-Stafford's team got some much needed time on the court to get better.
Venera Flores-Stafford, Head Volleyball Coach:"Spring tournaments are a chance for everyone to play. Being able to coach your defense and offense and helping these kids returning in the fall next year to move to the next level to compete and get to starting spot."
Meanwhile on the gridiron MSU head football coach Bill Maskill's squad is also getting some valuable time on the field.
With a mixture of veterans and rookies, the team is learning the ropes.
The final test in the spring is this Saturday in the annual Maroon vs Gold spring game at Memorial Stadium.
Bill Maskill, Head Football Coach: "Its a culmination of all the hard work we have done though off season through the beginning of spring practice. It has turned into a pretty big thing. We are going to have a really big crowd next Saturday afternoon here.
The annual Maroon vs Gold spring football game is Saturday at 5:00 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.
Pregame activities begin at 4:00 p.m..
Admission is free with free hot dogs.
The 1st 500 fans get a free t-shirt.
Our very own Jermaine Ferrell and Ann Arnold will be celebrity coaches for the game.
