That's what you can say about this season's Notre Dame Lady Knights volleyball team.
Saturday, they won the school's 4th TAPPS volleyball title in a five set thriller.
For all their efforts we salute them with our team of the week award.
Sophomore Isabel Diaz's point in the TAPPS 1-A championship volleyball match clinched a goal for the Lady Knights, that's the elusive state championship.
Since 2008, the Lady Knights have earned a trip to state each year.
The first two years of the current run, they brought home a state title.
But, there was a three year gap of not winning the top prize.
Now the drought is over.
"Amazing! It was such a relief. We have come here so many times and we have never won. It feels so good to finally get the gold. And finally get that win,"said Notre Dame outside hitter Michelle Fisher.
You know you try to stay calm during the game and during the match. We tried to keep it all in. At the same time trying to get excited about good stuff happening. When it is all over it flows right out of you," said Notre Dame Head Coach Lisa Macha
Saturday's win didn't come easy.
The Lady Knights were down two sets to one.
But it wasn't panic time.
"It was thinking we can do this. We need to do what ever we can and I wanted to win for the seniors and everybody. I just didn't want to give up," said Notre Dame Outside Hitter Keely Johnston.
I was so happy that we actually got it and I was so scared because I wanted to make sure we got the win, said Notre Dame Middle Hitter Rebbeca Shine.
For the seniors the win was bitter sweet.
"Honestly it didn't register that we won state. I was thinking get the next one but there isn't a next one. It was so exciting," said Notre Dame Outside Hitter Jessica Honkomp.
Now that our team of the week got the monkey off their backs, it isn't to early to start thinking about if the Lady Knights can repeat as state champs and add more hardware to the trophy case.
