A new candidate is trying to win a seat in Texoma that has been occupied by the same congressman for 20 years.
A new candidate is trying to win a seat in Texoma that has been occupied by the same congressman for 20 years.

Elaine Hays is running against incumbent Mac Thornberry and Bowie Resident Pamela Barlow in the republican primary.

She stopped in Wichita Falls Saturday to talk about some the important issues to Texomans and talked about her plan to have a mobile office if she is elected.

Hays said she's heard a lot of people in small towns across Texoma say they're not being heard by their representatives, so she hopes a mobile office will help make them feel heard because the district is so large.

“They have continually more and more become disconnected and feel ignored from their representative and a lot of it, the logistics of this district make it difficult, we are one of the largest districts on the entire country,” says Hays.
