3rd Suspect Arrested in 2010 Murder

A third suspect has been arrest in the 2010 River Road murder case.
The 3rd suspect in the February 2010 Murder on River Lane is now in custody.

44 year old Corey Raiford, has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the 2010 River Road murder case in Wichita Falls.

Sisters, 44 year old Leslie Ann Acosta and 41 year old Rebecca Hernandez, are in the Wichita County jail facing murder charges. Acosta has been there since being arrested in March for allegedly hitting a deputy with a beer bottle at a bar while a warrant was being served.

Hernandez was booked into jail Monday night. Wichita Falls Police Chief Manuel Borrego announced the arrests saying Acosta recently confessed to having a part in the murder of 31 year old Nickalaus Shaffer, who is from the Waco area. Shortly after 8 a.m. on February 4, 2010, authorities were called to a private property off River Road, which is on the outskirts of Wichita Falls.

"I spoke with the property owner and he told me the body in this area off River Lane. He didn't want to talk on camera three years ago and that still holds true today, but he did tell me he is happy that arrests have been made in this case."

Authorities say Shaffer knew both women and Borrego says she, Hernandez and Raiford are connected to Shaffer's murder.

"The females were possibly the ones involved in the stabbing portion and the other individual was involved in the shooting," says Chief Borrego.

Raiford is in custody in Clark County, Nevada.
