Art Express Trains Chugging into Wichita Falls

Christmas comes but once a year unfortunately for kids, and even more unfortunate, the Christmas train display comes but once every 3 years. But it is well worth the wait once it's here!

The art express trains will soon be chugging around the tracks at the Museum of Art at MSU. Jim Hughes and his helpers have been busy for weeks getting every last piece in place.

Fifteen trains, including Hughes's first train he got for Christmas in 1941, rolling on 540 feet of track will be part of the show.

Believe it or not, that is just a fraction of the original set up. The original collection was split up between Hughes and his brother, and this year's display has been reduced to fit in a smaller room at the museum.

"We would like to invite all the public out, this is my family's gift to the community at Christmas time. And we hope everyone will come out and enjoy the trains and have a fun time," Hughes said.

The train show will be open Thursdays and Fridays at 6 PM 7 PM and Saturdays at 2PM, 3PM, 6PM, 7PM through January, except on Holidays.
