Wichita Falls lost a legend on the local sports scene Wednesday when Bobby Evans died at the age of 83.
Evans is best known as the owner of Bobby Evans sporting goods since the mid '70's.
Prior to that he co-owned Brotherton and White sporting goods for 20 years.
That means he spent nearly 60 years selling sporting goods to local coaches, athletes and weekend warriors.
Prior to being a longtime business leader in Wichita Falls, he was quite the athlete.
He's a member of the Midwestern State Hall of Honor after leading MSU to the programs first NAIA national tournament appearance in 1953.
Bobby was a 2-time all-Gulf Coast Conference selection scoring 705 career points.
He was also a 1995 inductee to the Oil Bowl Hall of Fame and a recipient of special recognition by the Texas High School Coaches Association for his contributions to high school athletics.
