Midwestern State appeared on the brink of scoring goals in bulk Sunday afternoon.
But the difference came on the Mustangs' first shot of the match in a 1-0 win over Texas Woman's University in Lone Star Conference play at the MSU Soccer Field.
"We're playing good soccer, but we're not getting results. Sometimes it's just not good enough to play good soccer. We've got to finish," MSU coach Jeff Trimble said. "You can't will that, but you can certainly have some accountability and expectations for it. We need to score goals."
The Mustangs dominated run of play controlling a 24-6 edge in shots placing 12 on frame for the second straight game.
"We're close, but how many games can you be close to scoring a bunch of goals," Trimble said. "All I can ask is what we're getting -- create shots on goal and hopefully good things are going to happen."
Texas Woman's fell to 4-9-2 on the season and to 1-5-1 in league play.
