100 Degree Streak Ties Legendary 1980 Record

Wichita Falls reached 100 at 9:25 A.M. today making this the 42nd day of 100 degree temperatures.
In 1980 the stretch of 100 degree days reached 42 and now we have reached that milestone on Tuesday, August 2, 2011.

The 100 degree temperature today was reached at 9:25 A. M.

Our current forecast has 100 degree temperatures each and every day for the next seven days.  This will set the new record for the streak.  If our forecast verifies we could see over 50 days in a row of highs over the century mark.

Let's hope this ends soon!
