A Tarrant County medical examiner's office report states a 12-year-old boy has died following a shooting in Fort Worth.

Family members identified the victim as James Hardemon.

Hardemon was declared dead at Texas Health Resources Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth at 1:10 a.m. Monday.

Hardemon's 17-year-old cousin, Demarios Taylor, who was also injured in the shooting,  was shot once in the leg.

The incident occurred in the 4400 block of Eastover Avenue at 12:43 a.m. Sunday.

Fort Worth police said the incident is suspected to be a gang-related drive-by shooting.

Police did not have anyone in custody in connection with the shooting as of 5 a.m. Monday.
