4 Dead, 4 Injured in Dallas Area Shooting

Four people were killed and four injured after two seemingly connected shootings in Dallas and the neighboring city of DeSoto late on Wednesday evening, police said.
Gunfire and an explosion at one of two separate but related shootings in Dallas and neighboring DeSoto has left four people dead and four more injured.

DeSoto police took the suspected shooter into custody without incident at the second shooting scene. Police identified the suspect as Erbie Bowser.

Police said Bowser is being held at DeSoto Jail pending charges and further details will be forthcoming after he is officially charged.

Bowser was part of the Dallas Mavericks "Mavs ManiAACs" male dance team. He was listed on the ManiAACs page for last season and described himself as a special education teacher.

Mesquite Independent School District confirmed Bowser was employed as a special education teacher and a volunteer coach in the district from 2001 to 2010. According to the district, he worked at Mesquite Academy, Berry Middle School and West Mesquite High School until he resigned in 2010. The district said Bowser was not terminated.
