64% of Texoma, Including W.F. Now in "Exceptional Drought"

The ongoing lack of rain has caused a majority of Texoma to be put in the highest level of drought stage.
The Great Drought that started back in 2010 seems to go on without end.  The latest information on the drought was released Thursday, March 28th.  Here is the new data...

After spending weeks without much change in the drought outlook across Texoma a lack of rain is really taking its toll.  And, this week's weekly update added multiple counties to the "Exceptional" drought category.  This is a dramatic increase from last week's report.

Here is how it breaks down:

"Exceptional" Stage 5:
Wichita
Archer
Young
Throckmorton
Baylor
Wilbarger
Jackson
Tillman
Cotton
Comanche
Stephens
Jefferson
Knox
Clay

"Extreme" Stage 4:
Montague
Jack
Foard
King
Palo Pinto

"Severe" Stage 3
Childress
Cottle
Hardeman

With this data it means that 64% of Texoma is in the highest level of drought at Stage 5 or "Exceptional" drought.

Please remember drought level numbers DO NOT represent any city or communities drought emergency numeral system.
