A Ruling Has Been Reached in Fort Hood Trial Beard Conflict

A ruling has been reached in the beard conflict of the Army major accused in the massacre at Fort Hood.

A ruling has been reached in the beard conflict of the Army major accused in the massacre at Fort Hood.

A new judge assigned to the case of Major Nidal Hasan issued the ruling today, while warning Hasan that military jurors may react negatively to the beard.

Hasan is accused of shooting and killing 13 people at Fort Hood in 2009, and wounding more than two dozen others. He could face the death penalty if convicted.

A previous judge ruled Hasan had to shave his beard, but an armed forces appeals court overturned that ruling and removed that judge from the case.
