Legendary Disney Mouseketeer Annette Funicello has died, according to the official Disney Fan Club Twitter. She was 70 years old.

Funicello's family confirmed to "Extra" that she died complications of multiple sclerosis.

In 1992, the actress announced she was suffering from MS and had been for several years.

Discovered by Walt Disney himself, Funicello rose to fame at the age of 12 as one of the stars of the original "Mickey Mouse Club," a show that later produced stars such as Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake.
