Alleged Forger Once Again Charged with Passing Fake Checks

Jason Menikheim is charged with theft by check.
The case against a man police say is a habitual forger continues after he's again charged with theft by check.

Officers say 35-year-old Jason Menikheim passed worthless checks to a Wichita Falls business attempting to scam them out of more than $1600.

An arrest affidavit states Morrison Supply Company employees made a report of faulty checks passed by Menikheim.

It states a Morrison's employee picked Menikheim out of a line-up and said he's the man who used the checks on two separate occasions in May.

Police say the bad checks added up to a total of more than $1600.

In other cases, authorities say Menikheim committed so-called "check kiting schemes" and even wrote bad checks on his own father's account, and stole thousands from a restaurant where he worked.

They say the district attorney's office has more than 100 worthless checks passed by Menikheim.
