There are more arrests to report as the District Attorney's Drug Enforcement Division continues its investigation into K2 use in Wichita Falls.

The investigation found deliveries of K2 at six different businesses.

Those businesses are where authorities believe synthetic forms of marijuana were being sold.

One of the stores hit was 5th Street Discount Store at 5th and Baylor, which was robbed at least twice last month.

According to affidavits, the armed robber had a baseball bat or pipe, and demanded money, and also K2, before later telling officers one clerk did hand him the substance.

Deputies also went to the Shop and Go, at Scott and 15th, where a man was handcuffed and crime scene tape was placed around the parking lot.

Authorities later closed the Shop and Go on Jacksboro Highway.

Then, later in the afternoon, deputies also converged on High Flyer on 10th.

The owner was handcuffed at the scene as they removed several bags of items from the store.

The district attorney's office says two other businesses were raided today as well; Zoom in Food Store Number 2 and Shop 'n Go Number 3.

The DA's office says the warrants were part of an investigation by the D-E-D into K2 in Wichita Falls.

According to Wichita County Jail logs, eight people were booked in on Wednesday, all on one charge of manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance - synthetic cannabinoid.

They are 25 year old Akhilesh Kalaru, 36 year old Suresh Guntupalli, 22 year old Sampath Manne, and 22 year old Vijay Pullivarthi, all of Wichita Falls.

Also booked in are 28 year old Asif Juma of Carrollton, 56 year old Riyaz Juma of Allen and 55 year old Karim Juma of Carrollton.
68-year-old Billy Gene Hagler is the only person so far charged with 2 counts of manufacture and delivery.

An undercover officer went to each business and inquired about purchasing synthetic marijuana while recording both video and audio of the transaction.

The arrest affidavits say the officer was then given packages of the drug, the lightest being 5 grams and the heaviest being just above 15 grams.

The packages were labeled with names like Mister Nice Guy, Bomb Marley, and Purple Diesel.

More arrests could come as authorities may still be serving warrants.
