Body of Jacob Logan Found; Brazos River Authority Spokewoman Comments

Brazos River Authority spokeswoman, Judy Pearse, says the body wouldn't have been found without the efforts of many volunteers, rescue teams, and a sophisticated sonar device that arrived yesterday.
The search is over for the 17 year-old boy who went missing when jumping off a cliff with friends at Possum Kingdom Lake.  Search teams recovered the body of Coppell High School football player, Jacob Logan, last night just before 9:30.

Brazos River Authority spokeswoman, Judy Pearse, says the body wouldn't have been found without the efforts of many volunteers, rescue teams, and a sophisticated sonar device that arrived yesterday.

Pearse says, "The area we had been searching for the last several days was the area where the body was found. It was about in 64 feet of water and was recovered with the use of a sea otter which is an automatic vehicle, and also through a side scan "torpedo" type of sonar.  So it was a joint effort with the Texas Parks and Wildlife and it was a late night when the boy was found.  They discovered it about 9:20 p.m."

Pearse says the Justice of the Peace identified Logan's body after crews recovered it.  It's now at the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office.

Logan was missing since Sunday afternoon, after jumping from a 25 to 30-foot cliff along the lake with friends.
