Burkburnett Man Charged with Injury to a Child He was Babysitting

Thirty-year-old Donald Allen Caldwell Jr. has a previous record of injury to a child.
    A 30-year-old Burkburnett man is jailed on a charged with injuring a special needs child he was babysitting.
    Donald Allen Caldwell Jr. is in Wichita County Jail on a $100-thousand bond.
    According to an arrest affidavit, Caldwell was babysitting two young boys while their mother was at work.
    He called the boys' mother and told her one of the boys had fallen in the bathtub and was badly bruised.
    The two-year-old was taken to the hospital.
    Staff there said he had bruising consistent with a hand to the left side of his face.
    The boy also had bruising to his buttocks and genitals.
    Records show Caldwell was convicted of injury to a child in 2003 in Lockhart, and given deferred adjudication probation and early release.
